What Makes Up the Total Cost?
FOB Price (Free On Board)
The base vehicle price in Japan before shipping. This is what you pay for the car at source — auction price + agent fee.
Freight & Insurance
Sea freight varies by destination port. Add $800–$2,500 depending on your country. Marine insurance is typically 1–2% of vehicle value.
CIF Price
Cost + Insurance + Freight. This is the total cost for the vehicle to arrive at your destination port. Tradeware provides CIF quotes on request.
Import Duties & Taxes
Each country has different customs duty rates. These are charged by your local customs authority and are in addition to CIF price.
